Caribbean Women's Navigation of Social Structures as U.S. Immigrants

In this UNCSW presentation, we share the stories of Caribbean immigrant women who reveal their experiences navigating the social structures in the United States. We explore how their multiple roles and intersectional identities influence their experiences with and navigation of US institutions, highlighting the challenges and triumphs. Focus areas include navigation of educational, linguistic, and economic structures. In doing this, we will illuminate the uneven outcomes of the Beijing Declaration.
